Think You May Have A Warrant But Aren't Sure? Different Ways You Can Attempt To Complete A Warrant Check On Yourself

Eva Kennedy

In some cases, you know you have a warrant out for your arrest. The police may have notified you of a warrant or you are aware they are actively looking for you. However, other times, you may not know you have a warrant. You may have failed to pay a parking ticket or fine, or forgotten about a court date. If you think you may have a warrant but are not sure, you may find yourself wondering if you can do a warrant check on yourself. Here are a few of the ways that you can attempt to complete a warrant check on yourself.

Check the City or County Sheriff Website

If you are looking to find out if you have a warrant out for your arrest, one of the ways that you may be able to see if you have a warrant is by visiting the city or county sheriff website where you think you may have a warrant. In some cities and counties, warrants are placed directly on the sheriff's website. They allow you to complete a website. In other cities or counties, they may have a phone number or email address where you can get in touch with someone to find out if you have a warrant.

Call the Local Courthouse

Another way to try to discover if you have a warrant is by calling the local traffic courthouse or criminal courthouse where you may have a warrant. All warrants are issued by a judge, so some courts may be able to verify over the telephone if you have an active case and/or whether a warrant may have been issued.

Run a Background Check on Yourself

Running an online background check may help you learn if you have a warrant out for your arrest. Most warrants are public record. Online background checking services obtain public records and enter that information into their database. It is important to note that while you may be able to see if you have a warrant running an online background check on yourself, not every warrant will appear on every background checking service. A negative response may not always mean that there is not an active warrant.

Talk to a Bail Bonds Company

Lastly, if you are trying to find out if you have a warrant, you can ask a national bail bonds company to run a warrant check for you. Most bail bond agencies have access to public arrest warrants. In addition to helping you verify if you have a warrant, a bail bonds company may be able to tell you if bond has been set. Then they can help you post bond so you can clear the warrant and get out of jail quickly.

It is not always simple to complete a warrant check on yourself. You may have to try different things to find out if you have a warrant out for your arrest. However, it can be time well spent. Learning if you have a warrant allows you to take care of the warrant yourself before you are suddenly or unexpectedly arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Learning All About Auto Loans

Hello, my name is Ivan Cruthers. After obtaining my first job after graduating college, I had to take the bus to work every day. I ended up showing up way too early or several minutes late due to traffic and bus schedule discrepancies. I felt like my job was in jeopardy, so I frantically looked for a way to buy a vehicle. I finally ended up talking to the loan officer at my bank about financing options available to me. The auto loan application only took a few minutes to fill out and process. By the end of the visit, I was authorized to buy a fairly nice car from a local lot. I would like to talk about auto loan options in detail to help others obtain financing. I will also explore the application process on this site. Thanks for visiting.
